A leading global cruise line faced growing complexity across its payment ecosystem, with bookings and payments moving through websites and apps, travel advisors, multiple payment gateways and acquiring relationships, banking partners, reservation and billing systems, and ERP. A single booking could involve deposits, instalments, onboard spending, amendments, cancellations and refunds over several months. While individual systems could show whether transactions reconciled, finance teams lacked a complete view of how each payment moved across the lifecycle. This made it difficult to trace failed payments, delayed settlements, accounting discrepancies and refunds, often requiring hours of manual investigation and creating greater audit, reporting and financial risk.
